Interlibrary Loans

        Borrowing

1.       Materials will be borrowed at no charge unless requests exceed twenty (20) items per year per person.  Additional requests may be subject to shipping charges.

2.       Patron will pay the lending library’s assessment for lost and/or damaged materials.

3.       FCPL will not borrow entertainment DVDs outside of Kentucky.

4.       Educational DVDs may be borrowed outside of Kentucky.

5.       Two (2) music CDs and/or DVDs may be borrowed at a time.

6.       Good Standing Policy:  A new patron must have a good standing for 3 months to request an Interlibrary Loan.  The requirements may be waved for patrons who have recently moved into Fleming County and  were previously a patron in good standing at a regional library.

        Lending

1.       Materials will be loaned at no charge to in-state libraries and out-of-state libraries with limitations.

2.       Considerations are:            

  • Type of material (books, DVDs, copies of articles, or uncirculated materials)
  • Age of materials (items less than one year are not loaned, if item is less than one year but copyright is older—it may be loaned.
  • No best sellers will be loaned.
  • Genealogy— Library use only--requires pre-approval by Director

3.       Any materials that are lost or damaged will be the responsibility of the borrowing library plus a $5.00 processing fee.

4.       Items may be renewed one additional time for no more than 30 days.

5.       Always check closer states for requests: if item is found closer, do not loan.

6.       Individual library/facility may have a limit of 6 loaned items at any one time.
